Development of a solvent-reagent selection guide for the formation of thioesters?

Abstract
For the first time a solvent-reagent guide has been developed with a view to providing greener synthetic conditions for the preparation of thioesters. A number of solvents and reagents were evaluated and optimum conditions were applied to the synthesis of pharmaceutically relevant building block-like molecules.
