Abstract

Herein, we report an environment-friendly method for deoximation, i.e. photocatalytic aerobic oxidative deoximation reaction with degradable rhodamine B. In the reaction, visible light was employed as the driving force, while air was used as a green, cheap and safe oxidant. In comparison with reported deoximation reactions driven by light, the photosensitizer, i.e. rhodamine B, was cheap, less toxic and degradable, while the substrate scope of the reaction was very wide. This work may provide a practical protocol for deoximation, which is a significant transformation in the synthetic industry.
