Polymerization with the Cu(i)-catalyzed Doyle–Kirmse reaction of bis(allyl sulfides) and bis(α-diazoesters)?

Abstract

The Cu(I)-catalyzed Doyle–Kirmse reaction has been successfully introduced into polymer chemistry for the first time. A series of new types of sulfur-containing polymers were efficiently synthesized from various allyl sulfides and bis(diazoester)s in good yields. The structure of the polymers was confirmed by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and MALDI-TOF-MS analysis. Furthermore, the polymers were found to undergo degradation under UV irradiation, indicating their potential for future applications.
