Stereogenic metal centres – from Werner to supramolecular chemistry?

Chemical Society Reviews Pub Date: 2012-09-13 DOI: 10.1039/C2CS35270B

Abstract

Chirality is a concept that lies at the heart of organic chemistry but is often ignored in discussions of inorganic systems. This omission is all the more surprising, given the seminal role played by the study of chiral systems in the development of coordination chemistry. This tutorial review gives a brief introduction to the concept of chirality in coordination and supramolecular compounds for the non-specialist.
