Abstract

The synthesis of the first examples of tri- and tetraphosphametacyclophanes [m-{–C(O)C5H3N(C(O)PPh)}3 (1) and m-{–C(O)C5H3N(C(O)PPh)}4 (2)] is described. The reaction of 1 with [Pd(η3-C3H5)Cl]2 yielded a rare hexapalladium(II) complex with four Pd–P covalent bonds.
